MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

HELLO everyone!
So its been 4 months im in taiwan. Well more, almost 5 now.. and its already CHRISTMAS!!! AWWW Merry Christmas!!! I love all of you!
So its been such a intense week and very full of emotions from all the exchange studewnts. we had a christmas party on the 23rd and it was really fun we did a secrect santa and all the exchnage students bought me a gift !! I wasSOOO surprised.. they planned it without me knowing it to thank me for being the leader haha and doing stuff , but they bought be the 4gb iPod NANO!!!I WAS SOOO HAPPY i started to cry! haha then yesterday i went to church with some of my goodfriends and i t was really nice. Everyone was singing and i was crying hahah .But it was really interesting and cool! Today i s christmas in Tiwan..not for you guys yet, but its really werid cause it doesnt feel like christmas aat ALLLLL! I just want to write that im havinga really good time, i miss you guys very much, but have a merry christmas and i will see you soon!

Wedding in Taiwan!

Yes im writing this blog totell you that im getting married in Taiwan!!! Hhaha Well, i changed host families on Saturday so i am now with my 1st host dads sister!! I really like it so far, I have two brothers, one is 14 and the other one 15 i think. There really nice! i get along with them but their kinda shy! but there really funny and cool!! Their engoish names are Andy and Eric. Andy, the younger one even looks like Jean_michel, my liitle borther back home! haha there really cool! Then I love their appartement, theires a nice living room, then a kitchin, the parents room, Andy and Erics room and my room. My room is SOOO cool i LOVE it! I have this HUGE bed and like HUGE closet and ALL my close actually fit.. So when i cahnged famlies, it was soo funny. caue i came to Taiwan with 2 suitcases.. i left my 1st family, after 3months and ahalf, with my 2 original suitcases, 2 big boxes of carboard full, and 5 shopping bags of stuff...OMG how am i gonna come back to Canada?? hahah So on sunday, i went to a wedding in TaiZhong, about 2 hour sfrom our home! It was my host dads nephew getting married!! Okay so the weddins are soo much for entertaining then ours in Canada!! hahah So everyone sits down in a dining room, like a banquest room at a hotel.. the wedding party arrived with like confetti, then the dad gives his daughter to the groom, then they walk together down the isle, and then eveyrone claps. they sit down at the main table and we eat. eat. eat. eat. for 2 hours hahaha boy was i full! but the bride changes dressed about 2times durin the wedding, i dont know if its a symbol in Taiwan or for teir religion! but it was really cool! imet some nice people and i made a new friend! shes about 8 years old! haha so yea and the newlywed couple took some pictures together, like really professional and wow!! it was sooo nice!!! i want the same photograph for my wedding!!

WEll today it was teh CUlture Fair which was really cool! So, the kids from Taiwan taht want to go out to other countries next year had to have interviews today and then there gonna learn who si going to do an exchnage with Rotary later! So our job was to promote our countries because if they do get into the program, then will have to choose the countries they mostly likely want to go to. So every country had to make a booth and promote their countries! Canadas was really cool (well every country did a great job!) and we had pancakes (that we made..*cough we bought at mcdonals *cough) haha BUT i brought Maple Syrop from Canada, the real one that the ONLY SUGAR one so everyone loved it, even they exchnage students! haha It was really fun! They we all brought pictures of our provinces and other cool little stuff.. in total we were 5 Canadians, 2 from B-C, 1 from Manitoba, 1 from Quebec, and me from Ontario!! I put up the picture of my outfit.. Im sorry Rotary, but i might of scared off a few Taiwan students who wanted to go to Canada but after seeing me, quickly decided not to.. haha It was really great, we were placed in a circle and we got to meet alot of student who want to go to Taiwan and most of them seem really interested!! theres 3 girls from my school who want to go!! So cool! After that ( it was a long day cause i woke up at 5:30am, had to be there by 7:10 and it takes me a while to get there, then finish at 4:00) Me, Jolene, fellow Canadian, Drew (USA), Genesis(USA) ,Tally(USA) and Maria (swiss!) went to this Italian restaurant! OMG! it was unbelivable.. okay, if you have never been to Taiwan, specially when your a teenager and really picky about food, and you havent ate Western food pasta or anything simple and what ur used too, than you dont know what its like not to eat what you like for 3 months, and i mean nothing what you like! Because in other countries they have italian food if u got to europe and hamburgers, but Taiwan, NO! its COMpletely differentm like NOTHING alike at allllll! So when we went to this restaurant and it was like normal pasta is wwas soo awesome! hahA LIke I love the Food in Taiwan, but sometimes its just so great to be like omg, western/europ food!yay! We talked about how fast its going because i used to say, hey im gonna see ouy in 10 months! now its like 7 already!!?? its so CRAZY! and it was realyl great!

OOPS!

Hello everyone!
So yea, I kinda totally forgot to write in the past like 20 days, so sorry for that, but theres nothing much to write about, only that Im pretty much living a normal life now, im not a tourist anymore, im actually really getting to become more adn more taiwanese! So i wrote my big Chinsee exam and I did pretty good for not learning chinese before comming here.. even though i did try, but i got placed in Class B (A is the best to D) So i was pretty happy, because most people in Class A sutdied Chinese alot before comming here, though there are some exeptions as my friend Drew from USA who is amazing!! School is really great, Im making so many friends adn we finally got our uniforms!! haha after 3 months! Me, Susy and Arely and meeting the principal tomorrow for lunch so we can discuss our lives at the school! its going to be fun!! Lately, ive been studying, because im changing host family december 8th around and i just figured otu that my next host mom does not speak ONE word of english and my host dad is not around much cause he works shifts, like night and days, soooo its okay! ill learn Chinese alot faster so im kinda preparing for that! haha In culture class were still doing some cool stuff! I got interviewed by the news paper last time, cause im class leader, and I met this guys who lives in Taipei from Egypt! it was really cool! We learned how to make Chinese Masks for their theatre, and coloring on tissus.. i dont know how u call it haha! But its really fun! CHristmas is appraoching quickly and i really think im going to be fine when it comes, because im going to be surrounded but so many of my friends here!! (i hope hah)
Well thats a quick update on my life so far.. I cant beleive it was already been 3 months here.. where did they go?? I have NOOO CLUE!

Hello!!!

Hi!!
So last week was a fun week!! During the week it was the same old same old, we went out to Ximen sometimes to hangout with some friends and of course study! Then, on friday at our school, we had a Military competition (where you see the pictures) and it was really intense!! Every Class of gr.1 had costumes and like deocrative tape and they had to sing the Schools song plus their own choreography.. its an annual competition that the military people of our school put on every year because they bring all the cflasses to gether.. these kids worked so hard on this competition and it really showed.. it was amazing, the songs were all grea,t the cheers were really funny and they were really really eager to see who won. they were really passionate about this.. plus.. the prize was soo great!! MATH CRAM SCHOOL!!! WOOO THEY WON MORE SCHOOL!!!! Because cram school costs alot of money here, the prize was after school school!! This here shows how INTENSE they are about school all the time in Taiwan! but guess who won?? MY CLASS! they were so great! I was soooo proud of themmmm!!
After that i went to the night market with some of Arely's classmates and it was really great!!!
Then on Saturday, me and sasha's club went hiking in the mountains, and it was sooooo beautiful, then we went to eat lunch at a center for the people affected by down syndrome,, it was really funn!!! Also, saturday night we had a Halloween party organized by ROTEX and it was really fun!! I got dressed up as a GANGSTER with Babette and Genesis.. (see pic below) It was sooo funny and I actually looked like a boy and everyone said that should be my everyday clothing!! hahaha It was really fun and everyone had a great time!

Long time!! !

Hello! SOOOO many things have happenned in the last weeks its incredible! So sorry that i didnt write that much! two weekends ago I went to the Yingge Ceramic Festival with my friends from school! It was erally great I had such a good time! I made a pot, and i got to know more poeple from my school that werent in my class.. weplayed games, looked at some cermaic things! Also i got to write my aspirations and dreams for teh year on a piece of wood then put it in the fire and wish when it burnt.. so that was really unique for me to do that! So last week, the BIG chinese exam got canceled and put back for 2 weeks, so i was SOOO HAPPY! haha The week went by really fast cause i WAS soooo excited for the weekend!! It was our Tea Farm tour weekend tour with all the exchnage students from our disctrict in Taiwan and also the ones in the middle of taiwan.. so we went to cities about 6 hours away from Taiwan, like TaiNAn and Hinschu, it was soooo great and beautiful!! The other exchnage students are soooo awesome!! Most of them i feel like they are my really good friends, and it was an amazing trip. But, the whole weekend I was really sick cause i had a cold from before, yet i had the best time!! On the first day, we left Taipei at 7am and we went to Hinschu (i tihnk) to visit the technological Community Park.. its really great, where they invent stuff, like all the major companies are placed their and the community is built aroudn those jobs. Its really interesting, then we went i really dont know where haha but we went to eat lunch at this nice restaurant it was really goood. SO then we went to the SunMoon Lake.. and it was soo nice, like the water was greenish , and it was so beautifulll!!! We also went to taste tea and it was reallly coool! tehn we went to eat super at this really nice restaurant and we had a Country party, like every country would go up and do an act! It was soo funny and cool! Canada we sang our national anthem half french and english than Hey hey you you i dont like your girlfriend, then hey hey toi toi jaime pas ta blonde du tout! then hey hey wo bu xi huan ni de nu peng you! (which is obviously Chinese...it was really cool) it was fun! they we danced till late and then went to the hotel and we talked talked with all our friends so we went to bed REALLLLY Late then we had to get up at 6:30 and leave at like 7 something so everyone was prety much dead the next morning!!!! hahah Then, the 2nd day we went to an Aboriginal Culture Park, where it was also an amusement park. So they greated us with like a ceremonial dance and we got to jump over a fire to get into the park, then walk under flowers then we went to see an aboriginal show, like dancing and ceremonies it was realy awesome (i will post a video on here)! Theres like 13 tribes in all of taiwan! Then we spent the rest of the day going on rides an it was sooo cooooll!!! it was the first time i went on 2 roller coastersss!! The first one was really cool cause it was really dark inside and it was like u were in space.. so i didnt want to go on it, but my freidn drew and genesis LIED to me and said oh its really cool, like it goes super slow and u see stars and sutff... i was like omg sweet... yea i think i screamed like a BABY!! it was soooo fast and really really terryifing but i LOVED IT!! haha Then I decided to conquer my fears and go on the biggest roller coaster there with LOOPS and twisty things!!! OMGGGG i screamed THE WHOLE TIME!! like my friend were sitting in front of me and then there like... we heard on person scream the whoel time....and they asked me how i held my breath for soooo long.. cause i litterealy did not stop screaming!! haha It was so fun though!! So after that we went to eat supper at Shabu Shabu, a restaurant where u cook your own food! it was sooo fun but i was sooo tired!! haha ,.. then we went to a night market... it wasnt that great compared to the night markets ive been too but it was still really fun!! THen after we went to our hotel room where again we went to bed really late but me i had an excuse cause i saw 5 dead cockroaches in the stair case so i was completely terrified like alll nighhhhtttt! So the next morning we left at about 7:30 so we woke up SUPER EARLYYYYYYY! so everyone was litteraly dead.. so we went to see Dutch architecture from when they were in power.. then we went to a little market. then we went to a lagoon near the ocean and it was fun!! we goto play in teh water and look for crabs and pick oysters! I had a great time.. but then we headed back to taipei.. a 6 hours ride and we got back at like 12;00 am so everyoen was so dead hahah!!!
It was relly fun though!!

2 months!

Hello everyone! Wel today is the official day that i have been here exactly 2 months!...ALREADY!!!! An other week as went and i really really lvoe it here! Im sorry for my english mistakes, my english totally sucks now! Well this week, hmm i dont remember... ahaha well i hungout alot withmy good friends and we played games, and went to eat at restaurants and it was really quite fun to j ust have a realyl relax week for once! HAhaa.. but I was so glad to see my classmates again since iahevnt seen them for about a week!!! And wednesday i started TaeKwonDo classes! SOOO FUN!! and then we played diabolo, its like Chinese yo=yo soooo cooooll!!! and im kinda good at it... kinda thatis hahah But today im going to Yingee street famous cermic street ive been there with my family, but im gong with a school friend today! SO im relaly excited then im going to susys for a canadian/amercian movie night! so that weill be fun! then next week I have to STUDY really hard because I have big test in Chinese class cause we get regrouped according to our test results!!! Im a little nervous!!!haha

This week

hello! Well this week was really fun and it went by soooo fast!!! I cant beleive its Friday already!! I dont really remember what i did though! haha .. hmm, on monday i went to my chinese class and then went hoem and studied, then Tuesday, I went to the movies with my friends adn it was really fun and then we went walking in a really nice park, then wednesday it was the Taiwan Day, and i went with my friend to the movies again! haha .. and then thursday i had chinese class and then me and my friends from school went to the Night Market and it was sooo fun! They are sooooo nice and i had such a good time with them! I ate some oysters (AH!) haha and some taiwanese sausage haha it was good! haha and then we took cool highteck pictures adn there sooo cute! haha then on friday, i spend all day with my friend Drew and we went around, pointlessly haha and it was fun cause we tried ice cream we never ate before and they were good... not!! haha the one i had wasnt very good and i dont remember the name though! haha
But all in all it was a really great week!!!!! I love no school!

This week

Hello! Its been a long time!

Hello! WEll sorry for not writing on this often because i totally forgot since im so busy now! haha ... Well alot happenned this week! First, the cockroach..Well, after i wrote this blog, i go to my room and what do i see in it? Yes that discusting little devil.. I was so mad.. and i tried to kill it but it ran away under my bed!!!EW! So for two night i did not sleep weel because i could imagine that thing crawling over me when i was sleeping.. it was bad haha . but then on the 3rd morning, i saw it again, close to my feet so i totally jumped like a baby, and i screamed for my host mom and she came and totally viciously killed it.. it was realy realy funny and i love her soo much more now because she eliminated my worst enemy haha! The on staturday i was supposed to go to school cause we missed monday cause it was a day off but not a vacation, but the school said i didnt need to go wich was prety sweet. Then me and Are finished a pyramid for a school project and when to buy a present for SUsy, cause it was her birthday! Sunday, it was susys birthday BBQ and also i went to a Rotex event, like old exchange students that help new ones! iot was really great and i got to meet lots of cool people! On tuesday I got a permm!! yes thats right! a really nice perm, not curly just wavy with tainese style bangs, i like it alot!! On wednesday we went to the zoo and the makong gondola with my classmate of Culture class, so all teh other exchnage students and it was really great, since im class leader i got to use this awesome megaphone and i had so much funnn!! hahaha the gondola was really sweet, i posted pics on facebook!!.. After we went to study cuse we had a chinese test on thursday.. Thursday, i had my test and i did really good i think.. then friday i slept over at susys and it was really really fun!! Then on saturday there was a typhhon, and a realy big one this time and me and Susy and Are went like running in the typhhon and it was really really funny haha .. and i took videos and pics on facebook!!! Then i couldnt go home cause the bus and mrt and train were closed so we rented a bunch of movies and stayed again at susys house and it was also really really fun.. then today, i went to the movies with her and her older host brother ( who is realyl cute and nice) haha and we went to see Rush hour 3... it was super good, and I recommend it to everyone!!! hahaa.. But the Best NEWs Of ALLL is that, NExt week I HAVE NO SCHOOOOLL!! WHY? haha because monday and tuesday, the students in my school are taking exams, then wednesday its Taiwan birthday, then Thursday and Friday they have a military camp but the teachers said we couldtn go cause it was all in chinese so no point, cause we couldnt understand.. ahha SOOO NO SCHOOL!! i totally get to sleep in all week suckers! Have fun at schoolll!!!! mouahahaha

COCKROACH ALERT!

Hello everyoneeee!
Well yesterday was the first day of Culture class, so I got to see allt he other 52 exchange students in our district of Rotary! It was really great! This class is every wednesday and we do different Taiwanese activities, like next wednesday its the ZOOOO!! ANyways, we had to elect a class leader and a vice, and the leader like makes sure the acitivites are ready, safe and like prepares stuff for the class, so I decided to go for it , but didnt think i would have a chance, cause i didnt think people remembered me from the Inbound orientation! But i guess they did haha cause I WON!!! WOO! So I am now Class Leader/president! Im really happy! haha Anyways, when i got home i went to brush my hair, no reason haha and I saw this huge cockroach in the bathroom...near my room! So i called (or screamed at) my host brother to come kill the THING, but it disapeared! Somwhere int eh bathroom... so all night i was TERRIFIED to enter the bathroom, and if i did I brought a shoe with me just in case it would appear once more.. hoenstly i hate those things.. so then I was like SEAN! what if it goes in my room??? and hes like they only go where its dirty.. and my friends and my family know thatmy ROOM is NEVER CLEAN!! I did try this time, but it always fails... but now maman et papa, there is a way to make me clean my room! After Sean told me the cockroaches go in dirty places, I spent at least 1 hours cleaning my room.. it is now SPOTLESS!! Ive never had a room this clean for my entire LIFE!!! So I have more chances now that A cockroach will NOT enter my room, btu if it does, Im so commign back to Canada hahahaha! JUst KIDDING! haha

Hello everyone! Today I went to Danshui, a tourist part of Taipei county )if im not mistaken) and its by the ocean so it was realyl really fun. I went with my 3rd families daughters, so i will have two sisters and Im realyl happy because they are soooo nice! I get along with them soo well! I dont think i laughed that much in one day. It was really great.. I learned that the Chinese have 2 calendars, one solar Calendar and one lunar, so thats why I had a day off today because it was the moon festival, so the biggest and brightest of the lunar year (which i a year) and thats also why they celebrate our New year (on january 1st) because its on the solar calendar and also Chinese new years because its on the lunar calendar.. so its realyl interesting their cultur..and they dont celebrate Christmas as it is, but its alright! Im gonna have Chinese New Years, they also dont get presents, only money which is SUPER OKAY! hahah I think ill be neading some money by then, if i keep spending like crazy!! hahaha I hope my parents arent reading this entry.. Anyways, we browsed there for a couple hours, the shops were really cute and then we ate,... alot! haha And we then went to Ximen to do some more browsing and went to play games in a game store its really funnn! So after that there parents and brother came to pick us up at the train station and we went to their aunts house to eeat some pizza! but i was sooo fulll haha it was still great! And now Im studying (wow what a great student) and watching the moon haha and the occasional jump since theres people lighting firecrackers very near to my home, so im pretty nervous haha .. Tomorrow, Culture class starts so ill get to see allthe other exchnage students! im pretty excited!!!

Moon Festival BBQ

Hello everyone!
Well tonight was really great because we had a Moon Festival celebration BBQ with my family and my hot dads brothers and sisters family on the roof of your building... It was really great because we ate alll night and everyone was having a realyl really great time.We lit up those sparklers (picture 1) and everyone was waving them areound btu i was so pertified cause those sparks were comming way to close to me.. haha you can see by how far im holding that thing away from me haha .. I got to meet my 3rd host family (picture 2) and there really great. I finally will have the chance to have sisters! I have one sister the exact age as me, only shes born in march, then a younger brother by one year, then a little sister and shes 13.. Im really happy because they are realyl nice and they all have really good english (but hopelly i will be pre tty fluent by that time haha) Though they have one rule that i can only use the computer for one hour, once a week, which will be hard because I wont have the chance to post up my pictures often or talk to you guys or write on my blog, but its okay, i will be gonig out more often and it will be alot of fun!!!
Tomorrow im going with the kids to Danshui, a scenic tourist spot so im pretty excited!! there all really nice and really intersted in me, and I think Im going to have a really great time with them!! Theparents are really nice too..Well tomorrow i have an other day off cause its the actualy moon festival day tomorrow but i have to go to school on saturday to make up for the lost day.. totally sucks hahah Oh there was an other little earthquake but i totally did not feel it.. and i was awake! haha i was wathcing tv with my host brother and then he looks at me all scared hes like...oh my god.. earthquake.. and im liek WHAT? when.. hes like now and i stood up to feel it and hes like its over nwo.. but as if! haha I think im immune to earthquakes or typhoons! hahaha

The last few days!

Hello everyone!!!!!
Well the last few days have been really erally great! On Friday I went out with one of my teachers with the other exchange students to see a piano player.. it was really great.. the guy was insanely awesome! haha Then on saturday I went swimming with my family ( i love swimming cause i do some exercise AND the life guards are alwasy cute haha) then I went to a bellydancing class with my 2nd host mom and it was sooooo awesome! Like the teacher was so nice and everyone else was really great.. its really hard and alot of exersice like you wouldnt beleive it! I met a friend there and i hope i can go back cause there all really nice! Then today, I went to my classmates house for a BBQ for the moon festival (we have a 4 day weekend cause of the moonfestival) and it was really fun! Her house was in the mountains and so she had a yard and stuff. And it was really great, we arrived at like 3, it took about an hour to get there and we cooked food and ate alot and had a really good time even if i couldnt understand anything! But her family was really really great so nice, ( and there were really cute boys there haha .. her cousins friends haha okay I will stop talking about cute guys!). So after we ate we had this huge ballon water fight. At first i couldnt play cause i didnt bring a change of clothes and I had to take the bus MRt adn train and walk to get back home so i could not be wet haha . But then her mom was like its okay i have clothes for you, so we were about 10
and all of them went for me.. not with balloons but with buckets full of water... it was so bad, i got soaked soooo bad.. like completely soaked like in a shower but with clothes.. but it was really fun cause i got all of them pretty bad too hahah and I really had a great time to get to know them better! there really really great and nice Im so happy to have been put in that class. Monday I have a vacation but its not really supposed to be a day off, but the goverment gave it to us because tuesday is the Moon Festival. Its where the moon is completely round and we eat moon cakes.. theres really great stories about that. Ill simplfy them though cause there long.. the people were under a bad emporors juridiction (when an other kind of people took over CHina) and then someone decided to make mooncakes and he put a message into them that said that tonight we will kill the bad person (mongul i think) and then it worked! so it was delicious and effective! And then for the tuesday, its when the Moon is teh biggest of the whole year and theres many stories but i dont want to like totally say them wrong! so go on the internet!! haha theres pictures posted on facebook...when i get time haha and the waterfight will also be posted on facebook but i dont have the pictures yet!!!

Typhoon Day!

Hello!
Well today I had a typhoon day! Thats right, exactly like a snow day where everyone is happy cause school is cancelled, but with rain and winds that are super strong and floods! So i couldnt really go play outside like i do when its a snow day or have a mud fight cause of the rain haha .. but it was a fun day, I woke up and slept, then went to see if i could talk to mymom but i woke up to late.. so i went back to bed and then, as I am a GREAT student, i STUDIED almost ALL DAY! I really want to learn chinese because it causes most of my problems here, and it makes me homesick, so im studying harder! I can really get the speaking part, its just the writing part is crazy! I dont know how they remember every character.. its crazy! But the storm wasnt that bad, because when i was studying so hard, i fell asleep, and supposely it was the worst part of the typhoon..wow! This is the second natural that happenns that i slept through! Maybe it will be like this all year (hopefully hahha). So i am well and alive, and the typhoon didnt do much damage i dont think.. P.s Its been exactly like one month and 2 days ive been here.. ALREADY!!!

THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!

Hello! Today i went to the movies with Ares classmates.. they are all sooo nice!! We went to see secret, a taiwanese movie in chinese with english subtitles... omg it is the best movie I have ever seen in my life. Its a love story but not those cheesy ones.. its not all about kissing and making out and then they get married at the end.. its a beautiful love story about love, and its so great, and the ending is a shocker.. but im am sooo not telling you guys what happens because I am being the DVD for sure and well watch it together once I get back to Canada.. so you will have to wait another like 10 months.. sorry! But the name of it is Secret, and this is the first movie that i BALLED my eyes out during and AFTER the movies.. yes thats right just thinking about what happens makes me cry, even right now! (plus the main acter is super cute) haha Like i really like watching movies here, because in Canada i find like the love stories are all similar, but here, it was amazing.. like so great!

Pre-Moon festival!

Hello everyonnnneee!!
Well today, saturday night, I got invited to a moon festival BBQ as well as Are, the other exchnage student form Mexico in my school, by M.Chen, now the chairman in my school on the parents board and he has a son in 3grade in my highschool.. It was so amaznig bnecause it was like a neibourhood BBQ, so everyone had their own spots and their own little BBQ like camping and making there food it was really really great! I met alot fo people!! And his family is the nicest!Like his wife is soo funny and so nice, even if i cant reallty communicate, liek weh nthey dropped me hoem after the party, i gave her like a HUGE hug cause shes like when ever your free come visit! The door is always open for you! aw people here are sooooo nice!! So me and Are competed with children in a peeling fruit competition! Omg is was so funny because, as Christie knows, i cant even peel a mini-orange! So are got second and some kids even beat me.. haha it was great! adn then theres this cutest little girl that comes up and shes like Whats is your name.. in PERFECT englsih i was like omg ur the cutest thing in the world hahah so then we ate.. alot .. im still full hah but it was sooo great.. BBQ here means like ALL OUT! hhaha so much fooooooddddd! the we watched the Breakdancers from a dance school in Tiawan and they were sooo awesome! and the guys also very goodlooking! haahha s othen me and Are sand IMAGINE by elton john i think? hahah and it was so funny.. everyone must hate foreigners now haha (cause we sang really bad in case you didnt get it haah) but the people were so nice!ME are Are had a blast and this doesnt happen lots (like this festival) its only in autumnand it was amazing the atmosphere here.. so great everyone wasjust soo happy adn kids running around ,ppl charing there food.. it wasw so amazing!!!

Another world

Hello!!! This weekend, I went to somewhere i dont know the name of, of course, haha it was about 2 hours from Taipei to visit my host grandmother.. we left a 6am so i slept pretty much the whole way so when i woke up i was so schoked to see what had happenned, no not another earthquake, but the buildings and people were replaced by fields and fields of grass, vegetables, banana trees, little houses.. it erally looked like VErner, but alot bigger.. it was sooo cool! i saw a place where they have thousansd of chickens in cages an i was so sad, but they dont kill them just for eggs... still sad.. i wanted to open the cages and tell them to run away! haha after that we went to the market and bought some seafood cause we were having a BBQ in my honour..not,... haha its because both host parents grew up in that town ,so they were seeing old friends.. during the day it was soooo cool! i made food! its called duplings, sooo good and its like dough and you put some meat in it, then fold it and i cant explain it haha ./. theres pics on facebook if it works..then i watched a french movie, Taxi 4, wit hchinese subtitles.. it was good hearing french again.. like really good .. hahah then we had the BBQ it was fun, really, and my cousin that lives at the house we stayed in is soo nice too! and i met new people who live about 3 hours from where i live and theyve invited me to stay there for one weekend, and i said yes cause i can experience an other town different from Taipei.. so im proabbly going there nexct weekend or the weekend after..im excited really.. then i slept.. much needed sleep haha , then we left and got back home at about 3 pm sunday.. then I went to my classmate Sabrinas home, for her cousins birthday party.. and it was SO FUN!!! Her family is AMAZing!!! I gave her cousin some Cnady and a Canada shirt i brought from Canada, with Hockey on it and hhe liked it i think! hahah it was soo cool! and i had brought some maple sirup with me, becaue\se my friend hd been so nice to me like all my classmates, so im gonna bring them some too, and i gave ti to their family and they were really happy it was sooooo grea t i was soo happy! and her grandparents are so nice too, the grandmother gave me a beautful necklaces to keep me healthy, and the grandfather wrote me a poem and some words, in Ancient Chinese writing, like with the paintbrush and ink, and its like a special technique that i tried to do at my host grandmothers house. (oh i forgot to tell you :: at her house, my host dad thought me how to do the writing in chinese with a paintbrush, and its hard haha specialy cause im left handed, so usally everyone that is left handed learn hwo to write with there right, but i cant haha , like everyone notices that im left handed here, im probably the only one in my school cause if they are, its not good cause writing chinese character the order and the way is very important, from left to right and top to bottom but being left handed, your more tempted to write from right to left, so it changes the meaning of the word.,, haha )anyways he wrote me a poem and something about Taiwan, so cute.. and beautiful and Sabrina gave me a beautiful ornament, from taiwan.. also shes so nice, like shes my best-friend here i think, i feel like ive known her all my life, so its erally cool because now i have a friend to talk to when im homesick!ANyways it was great.. and i tried my best to talk chinese with them, at super time becaue most of what i know is about food because we eat all the time here ( wihci is good cause the food is too delicious) oh and about the Earthquake, it was 6,6 on the Richter Scale, wel it was really 3 earthquakes, 6,6 then the after shok of 5,4 then an other one of 3,4) and the news erports say that poeple ran out on the streets fearing that their building would collapse... wow... as if i didnt wake up! haha .. and 68 percent of earthquakes happen in taiwan, but most cause litle or no damage but there was one in 1999, 7,3 on richter scale and it killed anout 2,400 people and injured moer than 10,000.. the epicentre was like on the island so it was devastating.. and i told my mom haha and now shes mad because she thinks im doing this on purpose to scare her and make her nervous!! haha

Earthquake!!! AHHH!!

hey everyone! well guess what? last night there was a big huge earthquake in Taiwan..the other exchange students were petrified, some cryed! At school the teachers said it was a big one.. my host brother woke up and ran for the door to get out of the building.. without even waiting for me.. how rude ( he would so kill if he read that i wrote this i my blog haha) .. so can someone tell me why i didnt even WAKE UP? haha Everyone was like as if you didnt even feel it.. like .. i didnt wake up at all , my whole family was awake, cause it was suposely big ahha .. Are, the girl from Mexico told me this mkornign about the earthquake and im like , no, you probably just dreaming but the Susy, from USA said the same thign plus the teachers.. i was like OMG! I SLEPT THROUGH AND EARTHQUAKE!!!haha .. and not just the little ones, like we got in NorthBay that one year.. haha .. so that was pretty funny.. then today i made sushi! really easy to make, and its sooo fun! PLus i made so many new friends, like really randomly, its so cool! I got my uniform too, like the gym ione cause the skirts are not in for us yet, adn there so discusting, like the shorts are like capris and not comfortable.. im eager to get my skirt!! haha .. Then today it was the start of Martial Arts...OMG IM TERRIFIED. okay so the teacher is friggen crazy, like hes so pro and so scary and he has apprentices that he shows us the moves on... like he hits them sooo ahrd.. and its martial arts like defence, so ill lern how to beat the crap out of a gyu thats holding a gun to my head!haha , but im not sure im gonna stay in that club cause its so scary, like i dont think im gonna have fun, and im scared to hurt my partner when i do the moves, like its erally scary, i was so petrified when he showed us some exemple moves.. like i didnt know how to feel.. either totally amazed or totally petrified and run away as fast as i could.. maybe ill joni swimming.. I went to Ximen today with my friend Are, and thats where all the teenagers hangout ,, they haev everything there, food, movies, shopping games.. soo ocoooooolllllllll!!! this weekend iom gooing to somwhere abuot 2 hours form where i live to visit my host grandmother, its my host moms mom, so were gonna come back on sunday adn then im gonig to a birthday party, its my friend Sabrina, in schools, cousins birthday.. so excited! haha

Been a while!

Hey, well im writing this for the days that went by.. i have no time anymroe to write here cause im so busy with school that lasts forever, and studyin chinese.. and im so tired when i get home, that i go straight to bed sometimes haha.. im having a really big blast, so fun here, and my host dad bought me some childern book to learn hwo to write chinese characters! so im pretty pumped! haha im starting the martial arts friday and im sooooo excited! I went to a museum yesterday, so beeautiful but i wasnt able to take pics inside.. but funny story is that i didnt know that so i was taking a pic of the staircase cause there beauitful and a security guard like ran after me and was like no! NO [pictures, so i put my camera away, but i had already taken the picture! wooo! so i can sell this on Ebay!! yay!! haha ... but school is so amazing, everyone says hi to me alllll the time and im just like oh hi! , and i dont know who they are but there really great! everyone is soooo nice! I didnt get my uniform yet so thats an other reason why people stare at me, hahah , but im getting it soon!!! okayu so i got my books today,...so algonquin has a bout 4-6 books a semester right? maybe one opr two per class,.... guess how many books here for one year... not,1 not 2...but 40! yes i typed right 40!.. they dont even fit in my desks (cause the teachers change classes adn not us) like i was so mad haha and i cant read caus there in chinese hahah ,, sooo fun! haha how did your first day go?? miss me yet? haha well you can read this blog when your at computer room writing a IRP and you dont want to work! haha

School!!!

Okay, so last time, i wrote that i was going to join base-ball or swimming but there was a change in the schedual..um so base-ball was an all boy team, so i was so going to join, but i learned that they are the ebst in all of Taipei, which is huge.. so i decided that i should encourage the team instead of making them loose...haha so i went for swimming, but then there wasnt really a team, cause there arent alot of poeple, so i decided to do something Taiwanese...so i took..MARTIAL ARTS!! WHOOOOOOO so watch out people! when i come back to Canada i will kcik you butts! Im pretty excited to exercise that power! haha and now i have swimming classes everyday!! im so pumped! this is going to be the best school year ever! haha also im gonna have some cooking class and alot alot of mandarin classe.. so im pretty pumped!!!! great year! and my classmates are so cute, there so nice, like trying to explain to me whats gonig on even if they cant realyl speak english... haha so cute... also my teacher wants them to practise english so starting from Monday, there pen pallling me.. so there all writing me letters and i have to answer to alll of them.. and were 42 in the class... every monday.. holly crap...lol its going to take so long.. but im so excited!!!

First day of school..

Wellhello everyone! Today was indeed my first day of Taiwan school.. wow was it different.. so first we get there at like 7:20 (had to wake up at 6:00 omg ) haha and there was an assembly in the morning.. so i was like mm ok, there might be about 1000 students.. oh boy was i wrong...2000 students.. i was so shocked! haha So there they were, the highschool is didvied in 3 (gr.1=10, gr.2=11, gr.3=12 grade) then there seperated in classes, so like classe 106 (gr.1 class 6) So i got placed in gr.10 because gr.11 and gr/12 study alot alot because they prepare for there entrance exam for university.. so thats why i got placed in gr.10 because they have alot more fun! haha so its weird being in the a class and ppl begin jean-michels age.. so werid haha but it was cool.. anywasy, so these clases are standing on the lawn, hands behing their backs and cannot move, cause theres a soldier yelling at them in chinese so i didnt get the orders.. but really scary haha so i wasnt aware that i was gonig to present myself in front of everyone! it was really cool.. like the whole school listennign to me but im used to it, i mean speaking ti front of huge crowdshaha.. there aer 2 other exchange students, who are erally nice too but not in my class, in my school. So after that assembly i went to my class and they dont have enough money to hire janators, so we haev to clean up ourselves.. all morning we cleaned the school (like summer clean up) and it was kinda hard to make friends because they cant speak english cause there jsut learning english, but it was still fun.. i met a couple of new ppl.. like everyone was waving in teh hallway at me cause im Canadian hha .. but this school, Huajiang, is really great, they make sur i feel welcomed all year.. like until i learn chinese well they made a special schedual for us exchange students , were going out alot to see museams, i have alot of art classes and gym so its sweett!!! hahah its gonna be so much fun! like its so differnt school.. i had one engish class today and its so funy cause there liearning how to introduce themselves haha butthere probably laughing at me in my learning chinese haha .. but its funy and great.. like they have a school shop! soo cool and NAP TIME!! cause school is from 7:30 to 5:00 so at lunch we have half an hour nap time.. oh soo needed, but becayse i am an exchaneg studetnt, they have to do tests every morning from 7:30 to 8:00 so i only have to start school at 8 (yea!) and finish a 4 (wooohooo) so its really cool! I can only join one club, which sucks cause i wasnted to do everything so i have the choice between swimming, base-ball and others but im only interested in those i guess...give comments on which one you trhink i should choose! hhaha

Old Street!

Hello again!!
Well today i went browsing at this place called Old Street, very nice, which was is Keelung (or something like that)... i took the train with Sean, my brother, and his two friends, whom are super nice. It was a long train ride then bus ride! it took us about 2 hours.. but i went by fast haha .. the bus ride to the Old street was scary haha cause its in the mountains and the bus drivers are crazy, like passing cars in the middle of the mountani on this very zig-zaggy road.. so scary hahah btu surprisingly i did survive! SO we started browsing and it was so nice, like shops and shops and shops of stuff... so great.. we then ate lunch.. it was good even if im unaware of what i ate.. haha then we ate this Cold beans.. like so gross... but i ate it any wasy not to be rude! lol oh i bought a post-card becaue theres this little girl that is sick and wants to collect the most post-cards so i thought it be cool if she got one from Taiwan!! lol so if you guys want her adress or something ask me cause that be cool if you guys sent some too! So we headed back to Taipei cause Sean needed to pick something up for Jen, and then we went to eat some ice cream..ok its not ice cream.. its ICE haha .. like i dont know what it is, but it is based of ice, and flavoured.. i took chocolate.. mm so good way betetr than ice cream! then we headed back home in train.. so fun! i love the train! hah it was really fun today! i had a great timee, since its MY LAST DAY OF SUMMER VACATION!!! NOOOOOOOO!! i start school tomorrow, well i get my uniform (which makes me look so sophisticated.. not slutty (no offence to our algonquin people but if we compare our uniform to theires, it looks like were going to a night club or something..aka the skirts haha ) anyways im really excited yet nervous! Shopping Paradise!

Hello everyone!!
Alright, if you like shopping, you better come to Taiwan!! Its incredible!! So many shops, really good condition of the clothes.. and SO CHEAP!Okay, so i started shopping at around 3, at this market with Jenny, my new friend.. she and her friend Becky are the best... my new best-friends!!, And there are so many shops here, like miles and miles.. there are no spaces between them and no doors, its and outdoors market, imagine like nortgate mall and multply it by 1000 thats how many shops trhere are! there really small but nice! i love the clothes here.. the only problem is everyone is so tiny, so they sell like one size, but sometimes you can find biger clothes haha ... also , there are no changing rooms in the stores (only some, rare ones) so you can just hope the clothes fits you or makes you look decent ahah ... if not , its so cheap it can be a gift! lol The t-shirt there are about 3-4 dollars canadian.. good condition... shorts(really nice ones that would be like 30-40 dollars in canada, 8$ (canadian here) WOW!!!! okay i bought thsi hoodie, its beautiful, like AMAZING! so nice, and it would be at LEAST 60dollars in Canada, at least adn here its around 7-8 friggen dollars! i was so amazed! man im going to byu everyone clothes! haha and so bought alot of clothes but didnt spend much! haha i love it HERE! then we went to the night market ,which is more clothes and little stands wit hstands of food everywhere!! mmmm sooo goood! we then visited the Temple, like the Boudha religion.. oh so beauiful! they pray so muc hand its so nice in there.. i oculdnt take pics though... lol then we went to eat, randomly in the nigth market.. okay i ate some gross stuff but it was good haha i ate chicken heart... omg haha .. and dark blood (i have no clue what that is..) and guts omg it sound so gross but it aint that bad!! haha ANywaysm my day was so much fun and im really looking froward to hanging out with Becky and Jenny again!! To egt there i took the train ALL ALONE! and found the metro station alone too.. iom so proud of myself!! hah and also, i went on a motorcylce today, soo fun! i love it!!!!

Inbound Meeting

Well hello! Today was my inbound meeting (that is what every exchange student from an other country in taiwan aer called) and it was great!! Very early but awesome! We are so many from around the world, more than 40 i would say..7 from Canada and 2 of them are french so i got to practise my french so i wont loose it.. thank god haha everyone is so nice.. we got to introduce ourselves and ive made alot of new friends (alot frmo france! haha) ive found out that theer are 2 other girls that are gonig to my highschool which is pretty awesome! and there supper nice also! So im really excited to start to go to aschool... also, i start my mandarin classes next monday, and thursday.. fom 2pm to 5pm (so i get to ditch shcool for some more school! whoo what a rebel! hah)
Im ognig shopping tuesday and wednesday! so i will write about all the money i spent on gift to you...i mean to myself haha .. after!

ZOO!

Hello! Today I went to the ZOO! To get there, i met ANgela and her sister on the train (i met them because its my host moms friends daughter) and we then to the metro! If you have ever taken it in TO, well taiwan is way better! VERY clean and it has prtoective doors on the side of the rails so no one falls in.. its way cool! We met Shawn, Angelas friend and Brocco (they are the funniest guy ever!) Shawn is very good in english and Brocco i pretty good himself! We then met Jocelyn at the Zoo.. They are all about 1 year older than me, they are gonig into university...its so weird how they admit them here, they explained how you have to write a test,after highschool and your results class you in different universities, so the higher you score, the better the university you go to i guess... At the zoo, It was so hot and it rained that day, but it was still fun! I got to see so many animals, kinda sad cause they looked so bored in their cage! But we spent about 3 hours there, and then we went otu for lunch...the bus ride was really fun, crazy!!! they drive so fast and stop really abruptly, its kinda scary! Lunchwas really good! Everyone was sooo nice! trying to explain to me what i was eating haha , and i really liked hanging out with them.. after that me, angela and hersister went to this arcade place.. okay, its a movie theatre BUILDING! You buy your ticket, and floor one is this movie, floor 2 is thise one.. so sweet.. but we didnt watch a movie, we went t play indoor base ball!! its a batiing cage, indoors lol it was really fun!! Then i went back home on thetrain with them, and went grovery schoopping with my family! That was my day!!Im really glad to get to meet new ppl all the time, because they are so nice they take me to places! Next time, Angela said shes going to take me to KTV, thats their big outting! they always go there, its this karaoke bar (but you dont have to be 18 to get in, legal drinkign age there is 18) and everyone goes there in taiwan! so im pretty pumped... well tomorrow is my first inbound meeting, so will get to meet all the other exchnage students here in taiwan, the monday im oging shopping with my host sister (she is presently in sweden), well her friend!! I want to buy clothes here, its so nice!!!

School visit and such

Hello!! Today was a really fun day! I went to visit my school. and guess what, Its under RENOVATIONS!!! I Cant escape it!! i though i would leave the construction and detours behind for a year, leaving algonquin, but NOOO! Huajiang highschool is being renovated...i started to laugh haha Well its really really nice, other wise, very open and its like an outdoor school, like you walk on balconies to get to you next class.. really amazing! lol Theres a soccer field (WOOHOO!) and track and basket-ball aslo!! i get to take the train and bus (and i took it today but forgot how to get there...i cant really read the stops haha) After that me and sean went walking around and we went to the cd store, and its soo cheap! if you want me to buy you awsome cd.s for like nothing, tell me! the Avril Lavinge CD is about 9 dollars here, or cheaper! then we went to the arcade, yes a real arcade, and amazing one, and we went in this photo booth and omg, its not nothinglike Canada! its HIGHTECH!!! Okay, so you go in, choose your back round, or get the alternate one (changes after every pciture) go on the platform and start to take pictures, it takes 8, the platform changes places( goes up and down with you on it) ..koay sso i though it would be done after that.. oh no!, you get to choose 4 of the 8, then decorate them, add back round, drawings, writngs designs..amazing.. haha all yourself on this touch screen... boy was i impressed haha .. then we went to the bookstore and i found a english book! wooho and i bought a self-taught learning chinese characters...yea.. and a speaking one too.. i know an other word! lol then we came back home, and i we ate mcdonalds! hahah i was so surprised! lol... it actually tastes pretty much the same then Canada.. lol but im pretty tired, so tmr i will be going to the zoo at like 9am so i better go to bed early haha ,

Beautifull island

Well yesterday, thursday, was an amazing day! At 9am me and my second host family, (my next host dad, mom, brother and cousin) went to visit the island! We started off at Fort San Domingo, this is a fort that was passed on through many different eras, such as Spanish, French, English, etc.. It was so pretty, (pics on FACEBOOK!!) and i learned so much about hteir history (so myabe i wont fail history class!!haha) Then we went to get some bubble milktea ummms ooooo great!!! if you ever drank bulble tea in canada, you have never tasted it! haha even the tapioca pearls are ebtetr here! After that we went to look at the ocean, wow it was so great!!! We then went to see the Areo mills or whatever lol its were my second dad kinda works, he fixes them sometimes... it was so nice, like the view and everything was amazinggggg!!! We went for lunch after that and i ate with chopsticks!!! didnt make a mess!! woohoooo!!! it was erally good, i ate so much, like every other meal here!it was kinda weird though ,there was baby octupuses that were so adorable lol! by the tiem i came around to them, there were no more on the plate.. i dont nkow id i was sad or releived hah but i vowed to try every food possiblee here! We then went to mountaisn and the view was breathtakin.. i didnt knwo where we were gonig so i started to feel my ears pop for no reason, so iturned to the window and i saw the valleys and it was soooo great! We stopped alot to take pictures! but then it started to rain alot so we had to go back homee!!! Im finally used to the time change, last night i slept for 12 hours straight, thank gooood!! Today im ognig to see my school, if it doesnt rain, and im gong to the zoo tomorrw! lots of pictures will be comming! hahah
In taiwan, its raelly nice in the morning but itssss soo hot and humid.. it was about 32 degrees and no clouds, but its so hot that theyre was a thundaer storm in the after nooon!!

Hello again!

Well, today was a great day!! (its wednesday!) It rained alot in the early after noon, big huge thunder! it was pretty scary actually...but then my family and I went shopping in this famous streeet in Taiwan and it was so beautiful, full of statues and such.. it was great! we then went to eat super at my fathers friends house and they were so awesome! they own a little shop to make clothes and now i know how oru clothes are made!! they were making mens clothe for USA! I got to drink tea, that was amazing, and made new friends! She is a year older then me! TOmorrow i will be going around taiwan with my next host family, then saturday i am going to the Taipei Zoo, with my new friend that i made tonight! I will have details for sure of teh zoo and lots of pics on facebook, some are already up!! bye!

Concert

Hello everyone!, well its 10 am right now, and i actually slept pretty much all last night!! I am finally getting used the time change!!YOOHOO! Well last ngiht, i went to see Sean, my brother, perform, in a concert band..there were great! they played mission impossible and i was so impressed! I would honestly pay lots of money to go see them again! Well funy story, after the show, we were waiting for my dad to come back from a little walk, and sean friend, who is a girl, started waving at me and saying things really loud and she sounded really excited so i was excited cause i want to meet alot of new people so i asked sean what she said and he was like oh your are veryveryvery famous in our concert band! i guess causei m from Canada haha! Thepeople here are so nice, even if i dont know them,we went to eat some food last night, which was good, im getting betetr with the chopsticks! haha and the peopel at the restaurant were so friendly! I am really excited to start school, monday and tueday i have to go to school because its an activity day for the new students, because my host parents work during the day and sean is very busy, so i often have time to go on the computer and such, which maked me miss everyone! but i know as soon as school starts, which will be impossible to understand, but i acutally know a couple sentences now in chinese!, i will love it more here!

Well taiwan is great, its really hard to adjust because of the time change,so iam verytired and moody haha but its fun anyways! I just ate a taiwanese burger which was amazing, 100X time better than canadian haha I went to my host brother Seans highschool yesterday, and i had a blast! Hes in a concert band and they are amazing, youd think they are professional! Tonight is there concert night and iam very excited to go see them! Yesterday i drank some milk tea, with tapica pearls whichwas really good but it said with FROGG EGGS! and the pearls were very hard in the middle, so i was very scared! I erally thought it was frogg eggs!!! but them my host brother said no no! there not real eggs!! thank go for him! haha My family is very very nice and i love their appartement, its not beautiful, and my next family is loev theire appartement too! andthey are very very nice also! I will have two younger brothers! I love the style of clothes here, it is so nice! they have japanese trends adn it is so cool!!

well this is much simpler that an e-mail! haha My flight was amazing, i flew 5 hours to LA wich was very long but my 13 hour flight to Taipei was amazing, personal tvMiss you all!
